How many days in a row can I use dry shampoo? (Asking for a friend)

“Dry shampoo and push through” @jasmineraehairco

The absolute worst part of my beauty routine is – dum dum dum, HAIR WASHING DAY. I have long very thick hair. It takes a long time to dry (even with a hair dryer) and it takes a lot of work to straighten it. This is not something I want to commit to every single day.

Over time I have developed a very close relationship with my dry shampoo (currently I use Batiste) and thanks to that I have cut my hair washing days down to twice weekly. My last hair washing day I was complaining about my beauty chore and a friend of mine responded saying I should follow @jasmineraehairco (https://instagram.com/jasmineraehairco?utm_source=ig_profile_share&igshid=1izf63s5gf52k). I checked her page out, she has gorgeous hair and some pretty great hair tips. But it was this morning, as I was laying in bed scrolling through my Instagram feed instead of getting ready for work, that I came across a post from her that I think was a real game changer.

Her post featured a glamorous photo of her beautiful long curly hair with a caption that read “33 DAYS, My new record folks…” I thought there was no possibility that I understood the post correctly but after watching her videos and and scrolling through her page for another thirty minutes (mind you, still not getting ready for work) I was amazed to find out she went 33 days without washing her hair. THIRTY. THREE. DAYS.

Through a technique that she refers to as hair training she has mastered stretching out her hair washing days. The basics of the technique are a good dry shampoo, a good hair brush and pushing back your hair washing day one day beyond the usual day every two weeks. I wont give too much detail on the whole plan because she does such a good job of explaining it and convincing you that this process really is doable.

As I mentioned before, I already only wash my hair a couple times a week but I want to try this technique out to get the most good hair days out of my unwashed hair. At the end of my stretch I always have ponytail days but I am convinced with this routine I can have good hair days every day.

If you hate washing your hair as much as I do and want to get the most out of your dry shampoo days, I seriously recommend you check out her Instagram and start your hair journey.

For now I’m heading to wash my hair now, eye roll eye roll. But I’ve gotta start my hair journey somewhere.

BIO

I’ve said a little bit about why I’m here blogging, now I’ll tell you a little bit about who I am.

My favorite joys in life are being my little girl’s mommy and my best friend’s girlfriend. If it’s not enough to be both of those things, I’m also a full time pharmacy technician on top of that.

It takes a great deal of time fulfilling all of those roles and as I’ve mentioned before, I’m working on a balancing those jobs with being a better Tamara.

Some things I really enjoy are my dogs, being in my kitchen, organizing my life and trying new things.

I have two wiener dogs, Wiener and Daisy. Excuse my dog’s name, he was named by my daughter when he was gifted to her for her second birthday. We did try out several typical wiener dog names first but nothing suited him quite like “Wiener” did. As I am writing this Daisy is curled up in my lap and we are lounging on the couch. I couldn’t imagine my days being as bright (or covered in dog fur) without them.

My favorite room in my house is my kitchen for so many reasons. I’d say it’s the easiest to keep clean as it is the least lived in room. I really like to cook even though I often say I don’t so much cook dinner but make it. I’m definitely not the next Food Network star but I like making what I know and get real satisfaction out of serving a meal to my family. And let’s not get started on how I have to have every crazy kitchen gadget known to man. Wheter it’s for prep work, or cleaning or a huge kitchen appliance that can only be used to make one kind of food – I think I definitely have to get it.

How organized I am is directly related to my level of comfort and patience. I really like having control, knowing where things are and when things are supposed to happen. I have often been recognized at work for ideas I come up with to ease workflow. As much as I love organization, I will admit I am much more organized outside of the four walls of my house than in them. I have a ton of little projects on my home to-do list (that I of course can’t wait to share with you as I cross them off) . And HELLO lists play a huge role in my somewhat organized tidy life.

So since I like trying new things so much, here I am trying this blog, trying to be more me and have more fun. So when I try new treats for my doggies or a new kitchen gadget or beauty tool or restaurant, anything that brings me a little joy, count on me to share them here with you.

Hi, My Name is …

First, thank you for stopping by to see what I have to say. I have thought about jumping into blogging for quite sometime now. For a long time I was in a place where I thought what I said didn’t matter. “Who cares what I think?”, “No one cares about that!”, “Really, who wants to see another blog post?” After a long time I realized finally,

I don’t care

I’m not one to make NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS, but this year and moving forward I’ve decided I want to be a happier person. I want to do more things for me and have more fun, even in every day things. I got lost for awhile in being a mommy and a full time worker. While those are two of my greatest accomplishments, I forgot how to be anything else.

Now here I am …

READY TO TAKE THE PLUNGE

I love trying new things, going new places and sharing all the small joys I find in life. I hope you’ll enjoy my journey with me and continue to follow me along. If not, that’s okay. I’m having my fun and growing my comfort zone. I can’t wait to share things with you. Oh, and by the way … Hi, My Name Is …
